The ' American movie Institute (AFI) has published a list of the best comedies of all time until 2000. A selection of the top 100 comedy movies prepared from 1800 personalities including actors, comedians, writers and directors.
The Requirements of the Best American Comedy
Among the basic requirements that a comedy had to meet in order to have access to the selection were:
- Made of English Language and if is possible product in America
- The duration of the movie had to be more than 60 minutes
- A cultural impact to allow the movie to stand the test of time
- Absolutely Funny, comedy as the first fundamental criterion
