10. The first SMS


Did you know that the first SMS of the story contained simply the wishes of Merry Christmas in English, or "Merry Christmas"?!?


9. Start of Baywatch


On 22 September 1989 it was broadcast the first episode of Baywatch, a television series that then would make a great international success thanks to it, people all over the world began to realize the importance of the profession of lifeguards, and many people have saved human lives being able to imitate the techniques seen in the show! Baywatch is also finished in the Guinness Book of World Records as the most watched TV show in the world: the weekly audience has reached more than 1.1 billion in 142 countries, and at least 80% of the population has seen it once!

8. Presentation Microsoft Office


There is certainly need for you to explain how important it was for Microsoft Office and has the world think that the first version, launched just in 1989, contained Word, Excel and PowerPoint; Today, Word is the most widely used word processor in the world, and its first version dates back to 1983, but it was for another operating system.

7. The first episode of Ranma ½


Can not forget the beautiful cartoon Ranma ½! If you remember, Ranma is a young martial arts expert who was suffering from a rare curse falling into a cursed spring, has turned into a girl while his father ... a panda!

How many of you have not played even once with a Game Boy?!? Probably no one! 4. First episode of The Simpsons


That's right: the Simpson arrived for the first time in 1989, 25 years ago. Their author, as you well know, is Matt Groening: family, consisting of Homer, Marge and their three children Bart, Lisa and Maggie, reproduces the society and the lifestyle of Americans, in that of Springfield. But Simpson had already appeared two years earlier, even in a minute animated shorts, which were broadcast during the Tracey Ullman Show!

3. Was born the World Wide Web


The hypertext system, in fact, was proposed for the first time in 1945, from the studios of Vannevar Bush. Nevertheless, the idea itself of the World Wide Web was born in 1989 at CERN in Geneva, which is the most important European physics laboratory. From there the idea was born, and in 1991 came the first website!

2. Tiananmen Square Massacre
